March 2021 Newsletter

Friendly Reminders

  • Trash: Regular Mon/Thurs schedule for all days.
  • Recycle days: Mon 3/1, Mon 3/15, Mon 3/29 What is recyclable? Details here: 2020 Recycling & Curbside Collection Guide
  • Walking on the street: With less roadway and sidewalk space available due to snow, please be careful when walking on the street. Try to walk as close to the side as possible, and stay on the left hand side so you can see approaching cars. Many people are walking in the middle of the road. This is both dangerous for pedestrians and for drivers.

Upcoming Events

  • The monthly board meeting will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 7pm via Zoom. All homeowners are welcome.
  • The Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, Apr 8th, 2021, at 7PM.

Management Updates

  • Tennis Court Use: The Board expressed its concern about the tennis courts being used for other purposes than tennis or pickleball. Members should note that skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, hard shoes, hockey sticks and other paraphernalia are strictly prohibited, as are pets (with or without a leash).
  • Nominations for the four open Board member seats are due at 12:00 noon on March 4th. You can use the attached form, or access a copy of the letter that you received with the nomination form on the online portal at https://piazzaassociates.appfolio.com/connect/
  • Actual Ballots will be created with the names placed in nomination. They will be distributed via mail and due back to us just prior to the annual meeting. More information regarding the elections to follow.
  • Applications for nominating yourself for the Board of Directors of the Gentry can be found here

Ice melt

Ice melt must be applied on the ground for it to be effective. Ideally, this should happen in anticipation of a storm. This isn't always feasible, of course, so the product should be spread before precipitation freezes or as soon as possible thereafter, or immediately after snow has been cleared.

Home Maintenance Winter Checklist:

  • Clean the gutters. Get the gunk out of your gutter and leaders
  • Clean the AC condenser, prepare for early use
  • Clean the siding.
  • Clean and repair outdoor decks.
  • Inspect walkways and driveways for trip hazard. Repair/replace as needed.
  • Inspect the roofing for missing or lifted shingles.
